We’ve been getting a bit foodie on the blog recently and I have to say I am loving it. I love trying new places and getting to try new food combinations that we wouldn’t normally put together.

We were lucky enough to get to be a part of the studio audience for 'Who wants to be a millionaire' and before heading to the Manchester TV studios, we decided to explore a little bit and stumbled across the Dockyard.

The Dockyard is a rustic bar and restaurant that is themed all around beer and good food. The vibe is very chill and you could easily drink several beers people watching and lose a good few hours here. We almost missed our slot as we weren’t paying attention to the time, oops!

The menu has light snacks and sandwiches as well as extras that you can use to build a full meal. We had the Dockyard Club sandwich which was a stacked club sandwich with hunter's chicken, smoked pancetta, fried egg, lettuce, tomato and mayo with fries which cost £9.00.

There are of course many more choices on the menu with some veggie options too. The service was standard bar food service, but still good. The Dockyard was the perfect place to pop into for a light bite if you’re ever around Media City and fancy a visit.

For the price the food was really good and tasty. I definitely have never had the combination of chicken, bacon and fried egg before on a toasted sandwich, but this combination was delicious. I even make our own version sometimes for a little snack.

We had a so much fun at 'Who wants to be a millionaire' and recommend you trying to get free tickets online. The shows do sell out, but usually you are able to get tickets a few months in advance which should mean you can confirm your seat. I did have a coughing fit during the filming and panicked I was going to get kicked out for cheating. Luckily, that didn’t happen and thankfully the coughing fit passed. You will have definitely heard the idiot coughing in the background of the episode as it aired near Christmas time and unfortunately that idiot was me. I was so embarrassed but my cousin had water so I was able to sip that and avoid any further embarrassing moments. It wouldn’t be me if these things didn’t happen though would it.

Overall rating
We highly recommend taking a trip to The Dockyard for a relaxed bite to eat. The location is really good for all the amenities around Media City and the beer and food were brilliant quality for the price.

Overall we’d rate The Dockyard 4 sunflowers ðŸŒ»ðŸŒ»ðŸŒ»ðŸŒ»

We hope you’ve enjoyed this review and please let us know if you take a visit and your thoughts on the place! We’d also love to hear your thoughts about whether you are enjoying these reviews and if you’d like to hear more about independent business in Cheadle and surrounding Manchester?

Until Next Time
