It is a cold and blustery day here in rainy Manchester and I am currently sat here in this super cosy outfit, with a cup of tea, and finally sitting down to write. I apologise it has been two weeks since my last post, life has just been a little bit busy, but we are back now and with a lovely little review for you today.
Today we are getting cost and festive with Femme Luxe, which is a brand I have loved for a very long time! I say we are getting cosy and festive as this post features cosy loungewear and dressy party dresses, perfect for your work's Christmas party. As Halloween has officially ended, I feel it is now time for me to start talking Christmas and this is the perfect post to kick start this.
Grey Knitted Oversized Long Sleeve Crop Jumper and high Waisted Leggings Loungewear Set - Harriet Set:
As you all know, I am now 10 month's postpartum, living my best Mum life and also living in loungewear sets. Loungewear sets are the perfect Mum wardrobe staple and a firm staple of the season. I mean who doesn't love cosying up and watching films on a rainy or blustery day in comfy clothes! I know I love it and this piece will be a firm favourite to wear for such occasions as it just screams 'COSY' and makes you want to snuggle up on the sofa. The Grey Knitted Oversized Long Sleep Crop Jumper is just lovely on and certainly a piece that could be worn independently with leggings and boots during a winter walk or even with another pair of loungewear pants or leggings during a cosy day in. The Grey Knitted Leggings are also beautiful. Despite me being a size or two off (completely my fault) they have stretched really well without being see through and have survived several days of me looking after my 10 month old (I told you we live in loungewear now). The leggings seem to be holding up very well in terms of durability as Alex has so far swung off them, tried to smush various foods into / on them and spilt his milk all over them. Now they have washed really well, with no stains remaining, and I'm impressed that they seem toddle proof (so far anyway!).
I love the knitted pattern and how flattering the cut of the top is. The loungewear set is very high quality and feels super soft. The set is knitted, but not in anyway scratchy, as some sets can be, and it seems to be getting softer with every wash.
For reference, I am a size 10 and I got a size S/M. In Femme Luxe's defence to sizing here I did misread the website and it does clearly state that a M/L is a size 10/12. If I were to repurchase I would definitely size up and get a larger size to ensure that beautiful oversized look. Despite me ordering two sizes smaller than I should have, the fit is still really nice and the overall look is very flattering and nice. Certainly a set to be worn on Christmas morning or for a Christmas movie marathon I think!
Emerald Chain Detail Strappy Bodycon Midi Dress - Penny Dress:
From the title of this post, you can also tell that we are starting to prepare for the festive season and I am already looking forward to work's Christmas do, which coincidentally I got the invite for today! Whilst the activity remains TBC, I am already firming placing my bets on this dress being my outfit to the Christmas party.
The Emerald Chain Detail Strappy Bodycon Midi Dress is just beautiful on and at £26.99 is a real bargain for such a stunning piece. I love the colour and fit of this dress. The fabric is very high quality and thick, which means it stretches in all the right places and is not see through at all. The chain detailing at the back is just gorgeous and with the right bra (I know I really need to invest in a good quality strapless and backless bra) it will look even better. I strangely love my back, it is probably my favourite part of my body haha, and I love how the chain detail draws attention to it. It is certainly a firm favourite piece in my wardrobe right now and so glam.
The Emerald Chain Detail Strappy Bodycon Midi Dress is extremely flattering, even on my Mum tum, and appears to tuck / hold you in, in all the right places. For me those places are around my tummy and hips, where I need a little bit of extra support these days, so I am a huge fan of this dress for its built in support and the way it flattens those parts of my body.
I paired the emerald colour and gold chain detailing with a quirky leopard print shoe, but this piece really could go with any set of shoes and even most colours. It is a piece that could be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
