Life Update - It has been a while!

Hello lovelies - it has been far too long since I have sat down and wrote a post. Life with a newborn is incredible, but all consuming and I have found myself with little time to do anything other than change nappies, feed Alexander and tidy our house - I would like to point out I am failing miserably at the keeping the house clean and certainly do not feel like I have cracked motherhood.

So what has been going on with me? The last time I blogged was at the beginning of December when I was 38 weeks pregnant and created the Christmas Gift Guide for Expectant Mothers which I know has helped a lot of you find suitable gifts that have not been 100% baby related. A lot has happened since December 2021 and I truthfully do not know exactly where to start in terms of filling you all in. In fact I never really addressed a huge elephant in the room from 2020, which was my break-up. It was briefly addressed over on Instagram as so many of you were asking about things and I felt I could not just act like it had not happened. I won't say more than that about it, but it was the right thing to do and I think we will both agree we are much better for the separation.

Of course, breakup led to the sale of my first home. This was bittersweet as I had so many hopes and aspirations when little old Trainee Solicitor me first picked up those keys. It felt like a huge step backwards moving back home with my parents and packing all of my possessions into my childhood bedroom. It was a necessary step though and one that allowed for a lot of reflection and enabled me to really work out what I wanted to do with my life. It also made me have some really difficult conversations with my parents about my future career and whether I intended to stay in Manchester once I qualified as a solicitor or whether I would try and move my career to Liverpool or their local area near Chester.

Steve and I then got together and due to the national lockdowns we ended up moving in together a lot faster than planned. It was either jump in two footed and see how things went or try and date virtually, but be able to see each other as colleagues during work. I am happy to say that it all worked out for the best and a few months later we found out I was pregnant. That probably brings you up to speed in terms of big life events. I gave birth to Alexander via emergency C-Section on 22 December 2021. A few of you have asked for a birth story and trust me the whole thing was rather traumatic so I do not know if I will be writing that post just yet. I am certainly an open book though so if you have any pressing questions about C-Sections please message me and I'll be happy to give you some reassurance.

Alexander has been Earth side for four months now and I feel that time has flown by. It has been a whirlwind of emotions, huge life changes and finding our feet as parents. We are 90% caffeine from sleep deprivation at this point, but we love every second of parenthood. I will certainly be sharing our top tips and product recommendations (we have SO much stuff we purchased that we did not end up using and I just think what a waste of money those items were and there are also some items we go afterwards that we wish we would have gotten earlier!).

I am sorry for the radio silence for the last few months, but we are back now and my blog is certainly going to become my passion project again in between Alexander's naps. I eat a lot of food these days so stay tuned for food reviews, family friendly days out / trips and pretty much everything and anything in between.

Until Next Time

T
