We recently headed to the Laundrette in Chorlton for a little trip out and to enjoy some cocktails, beer and pizza. This was a cheeky weekday treat as we didn’t fancy cooking (first world problems) and we were getting cabin fever. We thought it would be useful for other Manchester bloggers and local residents to learn a bit more about the restaurant and what it offers.
The Laundrette is located on Beech Road in Chorlton and anyone who knows Beech Road knows parking is a nightmare. We’d recommend parking a few roads away and simply walking there to save yourself any difficulties.
The Laundrette is a beautiful bar and restaurant that is always bustling with people and dogs. We decided to sit outside under the heated canopy as we were desperately trying to keep a hold of our holiday spirit and the heaters really made it feel like we were dining al fresco abroad.
The fact that the restaurant and bar are dog friendly was also a huge plus for me. I absolutely love dogs and getting to have strokes and cuddles whilst drinking a cocktail was certainly the highlight of a very stressful week.
Drinks
The drinks menu was also very extensive, but a little pricey for the cocktails. I didn’t particularly mind the prices as the cocktail was really good and compared to other bars on Beech Road the drinks were on par for price. The wine list was also very reasonable with good quality wine for a good price.
For drinks I chose the Two for Joy cocktail and Andy had a peroni beer, as I say we were trying to cling to our holiday vibes. There were also a few beers that Andy hadn’t tried, which he was delighted with as he could add these to his beer app (untapped).
Menu & Our choices
The menu at The Laundrette is really extensive with lots of choice for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diners.
To start we shared the dough balls and Mac & Cheese. Andy chose the margherita (tomato, basil and basil oil) pizza with fries as his main and I chose chipotle chicken, roasted corn, red onion, chilli salsa and chipotle mayo pizza with the truffle fries. We would suggest maybe having a pizza between two along with sides as there was far too much for us both to eat and as you can see from our pictures we left quite a lot of food and felt awful.
The food was fresh, hot and served in a good timeframe. We were delighted with the service as our server was very attentive and even got us our bill quickly once we’d finished as she’d remembered we mentioned we were in a rush.
Overall rating
We give The Laundrette a 4/5 sunflowers - 🌻🌻🌻🌻
It was a really enjoyable meal and lovely dining experience. The meal was reasonably priced costing £47,50 in total. The food arrived in good time and the portions were huge. We also thought the staff were lovely, but the price of the drinks was perhaps a little bit too high for what they were.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our review of The Laundrette and if you like seeing these types of food blogger and review posts on Oh So T, please let me know as we have lots of places we’d love to visit and reviews we’d love to give you!
Until Next Time
